The popular 101 box muzzle is often referred to as the Greyhound walking out, or kennel  muzzle.

The guard helps to prevent dogs from scavenging and also makes an excellent alternative to a cone collar or surgical suit to prevent a convalescing dog from licking a wound.

Due to its design the 101 offers more protection from their teeth and is a good choice if the dog needs a slightly stronger muzzle than the lightweight basket style and this version is made of a tougher nylon making it more robust.

Dogs can drink in the muzzle and it may take a bit of practice but can also take treats!

The first choice for exercise should be a basket style muzzle as the box style can be slightly warmer for the dog’s to wear as not quite as much air flows through the muzzle,  however if the dog is scavenging and at risk of being ill, or needs a stronger muzzle then the balance will shift in favour of the box muzzle.

.The muzzles are designed for sighthounds and although they fit many other types and breeds of dogs the head strap is made to fit a collar measurement up to approximately 40cm, an extension for the head strap can be purchased here if required.

Please note that dogs with a high prey drive or a history of reactivity/aggression towards other dogs may still be able to inflict injuries whilst wearing muzzles especially if they are off lead and not under your close control.
